Turkey Shoot

On the first Saturday in November the EMS in Hanksville always does their annual fund raiser called the "Turkey Shoot". It brings people from all over the county and even some from Salt Lake. The cost is $6 per shoot and it runs nearly all day from 10:00 am until dark. The EMS provides all the shotgun shells and clay pigeons. They have men, women, kids, couples and team shoots and one called the Annie Oakley that most everyone can be in at the same time. The kids love to shoot but also love to go hang out with all of the other kids and play in their "hut" they built on the hill. I participated in nearly every women's shoot they had and did some team ones and a couple's shoot with Den. The prizes are hams, turkeys, t-shirts, hats, gift certificates and other various prizes. I won a ham and turkey, some t-shirts and some tools. Den won a ham, t-shirts and a few other things and Braxton even won a ham too! It was good family fun!
