Race Time

We went to Delta on Saturday for the boys' first motocross race of the season. They all did really well and all received trophies. Garrett must have known he was going to get one because before he could go to sleep Friday night he had to make room on his window sill for the new trophy he was planning on getting the next day. The wind was horrible though. The dirt was so bad that the whole racetrack looked like a big dust bowl. My truck filled with dirt just sitting there!! It was really bad. Everyone was wearing racing goggles for glasses just so that they could watch the race without getting dirt in their eyes. (Sunglasses did not help at all) I sat in the back of Chylene and Curtis's Gearbox to stay out of the wind. They cancelled the 2nd moto (2nd round) because of the safety hazard. They had already done 4 ambulance runs with kids that had gotten hurt. It was scary to watch especially in Quinton's group. They would jump over the hills and the wind would literally move them mid air and they would land somewhere else!! Not very fun at all. The kids were happy to get to race though so I guess it was good that we went. It took me quite some time to dig all the dirt out of the kids' ears when we got home. Yuck!!

We were glad to get home and relax. The kids and I have had a busy week while they have been out of school. Tuesday we went to Hanksville and picked up the motorcycles. They rode all day Wed and then we headed over to the Farm. We stayed there Thurs and Fri and they rode and played while I watched Macie and helped Chevaun paint her kitchen cabinets. We came home late Fri night and then had to get up at 5am Saturday to make it to Delta on time. It seems like all we do is travel. Everything that we do is 2-3 hours from where we live. You'd think I would have gotten used to it by now. Lucky me, the summer has just started so I will be in for a lot more traveling soon.
